Protein Features

Graphical View

  • Note to self, add a where this information comes from for each section
  • The first row of the graphical view shows the coding exons shaded light and dark purple
  • Subsequent rows show hits to the protein family databases aligned to the full length protein

Protein Family and Domain Table

  • The Protein Family and Domain Table provides links to the specific protein family database entries, their descriptions and coordinates, and a list of other member proteins in fission yeast
  • The protein family and domain table is sometimes supplemented by "Manually curated family or sub-family" data, this provides a consensus "curated" list for some protein families (where the protein family databases may not capture all members), or sub-family designations for some families.

Protein Modifications

  • Protein modifications are annotated using a subset of terms from the Protein Modification Ontology (PSI-MOD), also displayed, when available, are the residue which is modified, the effector gene product, the cell cycle stage at which the modification occurs
  • The PSI-MOD links to a page providing the definition of the term, its parents, children and a list of other genes annotated to this term
